Overview
Whilst 18 Red Lion Court undertakes work in all areas of criminal law, particular expertise includes serious organised crime, terrorism, white collar crime, serious fraud, revenue offences, regulatory offences, customs and excise, VAT, money laundering and the proceeds of crime legislation.
 
Work of a more general criminal nature in relation to which chambers is regularly sought out for its expertise includes offences of murder, drug trafficking, robbery, sexual offences, corporate manslaughter and offences of public disorder.
 
We are able to provide skilled representation in all courts from the Magistrates’ Court to the House of Lords. This includes the Divisional Court with cases of judicial review.
 
We have substantial experience of human rights litigation and death row cases, resulting in appearances in the European Court of Human Rights, Caribbean Appellate Courts as well as the Privy Council.
 
We are able to provide expert representation in quasi-criminal jurisdictions such as the General Medical Council, the Coroners’ court, and all forms of judicial inquiry and civil jury actions involving the Police, such as malicious prosecution and false imprisonment.
 
We are constantly looking for ways to improve the quality of the service we offer clients.
 
In addition to general crime and fraud, chambers now includes a large number of barristers, across all ranges of call, who have proven expertise in defending, prosecuting, advising and teaching in a number of specialist areas, concentrated on the following areas of work:

  • Financial Regulation
  • Professonal Disciplinary and Tribunals
  • Health, Safety and Environment
Each group is led and co-ordinated by a silk or senior junior. This re-organisation will enable us to:
