Matthew McNiff is an East Anglia-based criminal practitioner. He appears regularly in the Crown Court for prosecution and defence.
Prosecution work:
Private instructions on behalf of a number of District and County Councils as well as trading standards and public work for the Crown Prosecution Service in Norfolk and Suffolk. He is an approved rape prosecutor. He has also been appointed to the Bar Standards Prosecution Panel.
Defence work:
Predominantly publicly funded. He specialises in sexual offences, company/fraud & money laundering, health & safety work, as well as serious violence including murder. In both murder and serious sexual offences cases, he is instructed as leading junior.
Matthew also maintains a very successful niche private Magistrates' Court practice in respect of road traffic matters, health & safety, licensing. In addition, he is regularly instructed in (publicly funded) novel and complex Youth Court work (sex-related crimes).
Beyond but related to his legal practice, he works for Anglia TV productions as a Presenter on “Anglia Investigative Specials”.
