Practice
Adam Wiseman prosecutes and defends in all types of private and publicly funded criminal law. He specialises in fraud, money laundering and corruption work but also has extensive experience in general crime (serious violence, sexual offences, child abuse, and drug trafficking).

Adam is regularly instructed to act in an advisory capacity for individuals and institutions and has defended in prosecutions brought by the Serious Fraud Office, RCPO, the Inland Revenue, the National Crime Squad, the Department of Work and Pensions and the Crown Prosecution Service.
 
He is regularly assigned by the Registrar of Criminal Appeals to appear in the Court of Appeal and he has appeared in the Judicial Committee of the Privy Council on pro bono appeals, including appeals against the death penalty.
 
He is consistently cited as a leading junior in crime and is highly sought after.
 
Notable defence cases in recent times have included:
  • Watkins – Corruption and Fraud on the Ministry of Defence in relation to the construction of the Trident nuclear submarine project
  • Z Ahmed – Fraud and counterfeiting of Microsoft. First ever case brought in UK jurisdiction with Microsoft’s consent
  • Awadh – Fraud, car-ringing and international money laundering
  • Oksuz – Fraud and Counterfeiting
  • Karakus – Largest (and most prolific) group of human traffickers ever brought to trial in the UK accused of trafficking immigrants from China to the UK
  • Carolan – Conspiracy to supply massive quantities of heroin and cocaine
  • N Ahmed – Multiple deaths by dangerous driving
  • Nolan – Multiple counts of child rape

In the last year Adam has defended at the Old Bailey (CCC) as leading junior counsel for the principal defendant in a multi-handed attempted murder (5 defendants); has defended at Harrow Crown Court (leading junior counsel for the principal defendant (3 defendants)) in an armed robbery of the Woolwich bank where over £200,000 was stolen and at Snaresbrook Crown Court (leading junior counsel for the principal defendant (3 defendants)) in a 20 count indictment alleging 16 counts of rape (6 separate victims); firearms and armed robbery.
 
He is currently instructed in a multi-handed blackmail and extortion case at Wood Green (trial Sept 09); murder at the CCC (trial Oct 2009); mortgage fraud at Snaresbrook (Nov 2009); and international money laundering at Southwark (trial Jan 2010).
