Panel Discussion: Plea Negotiations in Fraud Cases
25.05.2010
Plea negotiations have been part of the fraud prosecution landscape in England and Wales for a number of years. However recent new guidelines have paved the way for their formalisation.
The evening session will enable guests to hear different perspectives from a panel of experts in the field, including 18 Red Lion Court members Peter Carter QC and Allison Clare. The session will provide:
  • An overview of the UK plea negotiation framework in fraud cases.
  • A practitioner’s perspective on the new plea negotiation guidelines.
  • A personal perspective on the US experience in using plea negotiations in fraud cases.
  • The impact of the new guidelines on access to justice.
