Three New Tenants

Chambers is delighted to announce that Jeremy Benson QC, Sailesh Mehta and Riel Karmy-Jones all formerly of 2 Hare Court have accepted offers of tenancy at 18 Red Lion Court.

Jeremy Benson QC is a highly experienced and well respected criminal law specialist in serious crime including murder, drugs and serious fraud cases. He has prosecuted and defended in equal measure at the highest level (e.g. Court of Appeal and House of Lords) having a specialist interest in national and international VAT fraud and Computer Fraud.

Sailesh Mehta has acquired, in over twenty years in practice a reputation for excellence and ability in both mainstream crime and his chosen specialist field, environmental law. He is cited as a “leading junior” and a “real heavyweight” in Environmental Law by Chambers & Partners UK Guide and has also been selected as “Criminal Lawyer of the Year” in 2009 by the Society of Asian Lawyers. He is on the Attorney General’s list of approved counsel.

Riel Karmy-Jones specialises in serious crime, and has extensive experience in murder cases, including both high profile and historic prosecutions. She has been instructed alone, as a led junior, and increasingly as a leading junior in most London courts but most frequently at the Central Criminal Court. She also undertakes regulatory work and is frequently instructed by the General Medical Council and General Social Care Council.
