Mini-Pupillage
We are able to offer a limited number of one week mini-pupillages for those seeking a career as a Barrister at a top Criminal set. Mini-pupillages provide candidates with a unique opportunity to gain an insight into life at the Criminal Bar and in particular at 18 Red Lion Court.

Mini-pupillages are available from the beginning of May to the end of October each year, and also during the third week of December and the second week of January. Applications in the form of a CV and covering letter should be submitted between January and March of the year in which the mini-pupillage is sought (applications for the second week in January should be made by the end of March of the previous year). We are unable to accept applications at any other time and are not able to carry applications over from previous years.

We will consider applications for 2-3 day mini-pupillages. We will also consider applications for assistance with funding (for travel and other expenses). However, decisions on both remain entirely at our discretion.

We regret that due to the high number of applications received each year, we are unable to offer mini-pupillages to candidates who have not yet begun their university degree. Please send your application by post or e-mail to Jamie Sawyer. We consider all our applications after the 31st March deadline.

We have an extensive library, both paper and electronic, and an experienced librarian to assist with research, as well as an intranet.
